H201 Orientation to Health Occupations Independent Study

Course length: 1 semester

Course credit: .5

Grade level: 9, 10

Because of scheduling problems in many schools, it is difficult, if not impossible, for ninth and tenth graders to enroll in a conventional classroom subject that helps them become directed towards the various careers in health occupations.  Therefore, Orientation to Health Occupations Independent Study provides the student with an opportunity to work independently and receive credit for their work.  Credit is earned by completing an approved plan of independent study in health occupations.  Students may repeat this course for additional credit provided that an additional approved plan of study shows completion of additional knowledge and skills.  Students interested in a health career and independent study should consult with the guidance counselor for more information and development of a plan for independent study.
