Production technology is a course designed to foster an awareness and understanding of manufacturing and construction technology.  Through a variety of learning activities, students are exposed to many career opportunities in the production field.  Experiences in manufacturing include product design, materials and processes, tools and equipment, including computers, safety procedures, corporate structure, management, research and development, production planning, mass production, marketing and servicing.

I101 COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY  (IL PLAN)

Communication Technology is a course designed to foster an awareness and understanding of the technologies used to communicate in our modern society.  Students will gain experience in the areas of design and drafting, radio and television broadcasting, computers in communication, photography, graphic arts, and telecommunications.

I102  EXPLORING  INDUSTRIAL  TECHNOLOGY

Exploring Industrial Technology is offered to ninth grade students who are still undecided about the area of Industrial Technology they would like to study.  Each student chooses two of three Industrial Technology areas for the year or a student may select one of three areas for the semester.

I200 TRANSPORTATION TECHNOLOGY  (IL PLAN)

Transportation Technology is a course designed to foster awareness and understanding of the various transportation customs that make up our mobile society.  Through laboratory activities, the student will be exposed to the technologies of and career opportunities involved in material handling, atmospheric and space transportation, marine transportation, terrestrial transportation, and computer uses in transportation technology.

I201 ENERGY UTILIZATION TECHNOLOGY  (IL PLAN)

Energy Utilization Technology is a course designed to foster awareness and understanding of how we use energy in our industrial technological society.  Areas of study will include conversion of energy, electrical fundamentals, solar energy resources, alternate energy resources such as wind, water, and geothermal, fossil fuels, nuclear power, energy conservation, and computer uses in energy technology.  Students will use laboratory experiences to become familiar with current energy technologies.

I202  MODULAR  TECHNOLOGY  LAB

Course length: 1 year

Course credit: 1.0

Grade level: 9, 10

The students will work on each module for a period of ten (10) days.  The modules include; Auto CAD LT, PageMaker, Multimedia and Animation, Digital Music, Electronics, Robotics, Welding Simulation, CAD / CAM Lathe, CAM / CNC Mill, Laser Applications, Weather Satellite, Graphic Design, Embroidery, Video Editing, Digital Photography, Vinyl Sign Making, Fluid Power (Pneumatics), Mechanical Systems, Flight Trainer, Precision Measurement, Residential Construction, Residential Wiring, Residential Plumbing, and Instructor Management Station.

I203  POWER  TECHNOLOGY

Course length: 1 semester

Power Technology is designed to develop a student’s skill in the use of tools, test equipment, and measuring devices as it applies to gasoline engines and power trains.  Engine diagnosis and repair will be stressed as well as the related systems of automobiles and other gasoline powered equipment.  This course is  basic knowledge for the homeowner as well as those with occupational interests involving the application of power from various sources.
